In the middle of the road of my life, I awoke in a dark wood, where the true way was wholly lost.

- David Whyte

I am a Melbourne & Surfcoast based Psychotherapist, Holotropic Breathwork practitioner and Men's Group facilitator.

I work from a therapy clinic on Sydney Road in Brunswick and, from February 2026, will also be offering psychotherapy and individual breathwork sessions in Lorne on the Surf Coast of Victoria. I support people across a wide range of areas, including anxiety, depression, and experiences of spiritual emergence or emergency.

My work is informed by Gestalt, Process Oriented, and Transpersonal approaches, with roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine. My approach is awareness-based, using the breath and body as central tools to support psychological healing and personal growth.

I have been involved in the fields of healing and personal development since the mid-1990s. My early work explored how environmental and contextual factors influence health, leading to a period of teaching Western Geomancy at the Australian College of Environmental Studies. There I offered Power of Place field trips and lectures, using experiential methods to deepen awareness of our relationship with place and country.

A sustained relationship with nature has been an important influence on my work for over two decades and continues to inform a grounded, respectful, and embodied approach to psychotherapy—particularly in regional and coastal settings such as Lorne.

Psychotherapy

I offer one-on-one psychotherapy and counselling in Brunswick, and from February 2026, in Lorne on the Surf Coast. My work draws on Gestalt, Process-Oriented, and Transpersonal approaches, using mind, body, and awareness-based practices to support psychological healing, personal growth, and more fulfilling relationships.

Holotropic Breathwork

In the late 1990's I had my first experience of Holotropic breathwork, with one of Australia's pioneering Holotropic Breathwork practitioners, the Reverend Alf Foote. Alf Foote was a part of the key month-long workshops at the Esalen community during the 1980's when Stan Grof started to form the set and setting for Holotropic Breathwork.

In 2006 I began the Grof Transpersonal Facilitator Training under Tav Sparks and in 2013 certified as a Holotropic Breathwork Facilitor. Since then I have been running regular Holotropic Breathwork workshops in Melbourne.

Mens Groups

I am also keenly interested in working in groups and working with Men to help facilitate greater personal and relational intimacy. I am personally a member of a group that has been meeting monthly for almost 15 years and have also facilitated groups since 2013.

Music for Breathwork

One of my keen passions is music and in particular music for expanded states of awareness. Over the last 8 years I have been compiling a catalogue of tracks suitable for use as music for breathwork. The Music for breathwork website contains 1600+ tracks that are all tagged based on their relevant uses for breathwork music. In the last year or so I have developed a platform that allows users to create and curate their own playlists either manually or automatically based on the built in tagging system.
